Agriculture has the potential to be an engine for economic growth and food security in Cambodia, with improved production and post-harvest infrastructure, streamlined business environment, and increased capacity for financial services to reach rural entrepreneurs.
USAID's Economic Growth Program in Cambodia aims to:
- Promote economic opportunity;
- Increase agricultural productivity and growth; and
- Promote private sector competitiveness.
In Cambodia, better access to financing is giving smallholder farmers and business owners more opportunities to increase their incomes.
