Senior Advisor - Design, Estimating & Construction Oversight and Dam Safety Officer

Brian Becker, P.E., was named as the Senior Advisor - Design, Estimating and Construction Oversight and Dam Safety Officer in January, 2015. He has 30 years of engineering experience working for the Bureau of Reclamation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The Senior Advisor provides oversight of design, estimating and construction activities as they are being formulated and prepared to ensure that executive-level management decisions and products are sound at the project and corporate levels. Becker will also serve as Reclamation's Dam Safety Officer where he will provide broad program guidance, conduct reviews and perform quality assurance of Reclamation's Dam Safety Program.

Becker was named Chief of Reclamation's Dam Safety Program in 2008 where he ensured the safety and reliability of Reclamation's dams to protect the downstream public. He previously served as the Deputy Chief of the Dam Safety Program when he returned to Reclamation in 2004. He joined Reclamation in 1985 as an engineer in the Concrete Dams Branch of the Technical Service Center. In 1992, Becker left Reclamation for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and joined the Division of Engineering in the Mountain-Prairie Region and was named as the Service Dam Safety Officer in 2000.

Becker is a graduate of North Dakota State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He is a Professional Engineer in Colorado.
