The AI/AN Health Disparities Program is intended to strengthen the capacity of Tribal Epidemiology Centers (TECs) to collect and manage data more effectively and to better understand and develop the link between public health problems and behavior, socioeconomic conditions, and geography.

The focus of the Improvement of Minority Health and Health Disparities in the Delta Regions (DELTA) program was to address significant health disparities that impact rural, underserved and disadvantaged populations living in the Delta region states of Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. The Delta Regional Institute (DRI) served as a hub for tri-state activities that focused on the reduction and elimination of health disparities. The institute addressed minority health and health disparities within priority populations and multiple chronic conditions on individual, community and system levels.
This funding opportunity is designed to assist the offices within HHS/Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) to fund activities with the OASH-wide mission, as well as their office mission. HHS/The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) oversees 9 core public health offices, as well as 10 regional health offices, and 10 Presidential or Secretarial advisory committees.
