The BLM began its partnership with the American Equine Association (then known as Family Horses) in 2015 in an effort to find more good homes for America’s wild burros. As part of this partnership, AEA launched the Burro Incentive Program (also known as BIP) to offer trainers a small incentive to pickup burros from their local BLM Off-Range Corral, train them and place them into a good home. AEA is also highly involved in helping to raise awareness of the Wild Horse and Burro Program, and has supported BLM in its efforts to place more animals into private care through the Internet Adoption (www.AdoptaHorse.BLM.gov).

Since the partnership began in 2015, AEA has helped place more than 200 trained burros into good homes. To learn more about American Equine Association and the Burro Incentive Program, visit http://www.adoptaburro.com/.
