The Rocky Mountain RAC is a citizen-group that represents BLM Colorado's Royal Gorge, San Luis Valley and Gunnison field office, providing recommendations to the BLM on the management of public lands and resources in the area. The 15 members of the RAC, who serve staggered, three-year terms, operate on the principle of collaborative decision-making and work to reach consensus before making official recommendations.

The Rocky Mountain RAC was recently expanded to include the Gunnison Field Office, which was added to the newly created Rocky Mountain District at the beginning of Fiscal Year 2017. With the addition of the Gunnison Field Office and its many special areas, we look forward to new representation and viewpoints and continued dynamic conversations regarding public lands in southern and eastern Colorado.
