NDAA Elects New Association President at Annual Summer Meeting

On Sunday, July 16, the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) elected its new leadership for a one year term. Hennepin County Attorney (MN) Michael Freeman was elected as the new President of the association, while District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett from Essex County, MA was elected as the President-Elect. Immediate Past President Michael Ramos was named the association’s Chairman of the Board. NDAA Supports Legislation to End Human Trafficking on the Road
In early July, the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee held a hearing on transportation and its nexus with human trafficking. As part of that hearing, Chairman Thune (R-SD), Ranking Member Nelson (D-FL) and Senator Klobuchar (D-MN) introduced the No Human Trafficking on Our Roads Act, which would ban for life an individual's commercial driver's license if convicted of using a commercial motor vehicle to commit a human trafficking felony. NDAA issued a support letter for that legislation that can be found here
