The Producer Price Index (PPI) program measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the PPI are from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services.

  January 2017 PPI data are scheduled to be released on February 14, 2017, at 8:30 A.M. Eastern Time.

PPI for final demand increases 0.3% in December; goods rise 0.7%, services advance 0.1%

The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.3 percent in December. Final demand prices advanced 0.4 percent in November and were unchanged in October. In December, the final demand goods index advanced 0.7 percent and prices for final demand services inched up 0.1 percent.
