New 2017 NSDI Strategic Planning Process
The Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) has developed an updated strategic plan for the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The NSDI strategic plan, which covers the years 2014-2016, was approved by the FGDC Steering Committee in December 2013. The plan describes a broad national vision for the NSDI, and includes goals and objectives for the Federal government's role in continued sustainable development of the NSDI. The plan was developed through extensive consultation and coordination with FGDC member agencies and geospatial partner organizations and stakeholders. The FGDC will work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders in the geospatial community on implementation of the plan. Additional information will be posted here regarding the implementation phase. Learn more about the NSDI by downloading the NSDI brochure (pdf).
