Postdoc Program

Postdoctoral appointments provide a mentored research experience that enables an opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory research and development experience and the highest quality of training to prepare for transition to research independence.

Postdoctoral research ensures the continued quality of the INL workforce, while advancing INL’s missions in the fields of nuclear energy, critical infrastructure protection, and clean energy deployment.

INL postdoctoral researchers perform in a rich science and technology environment, present and publish research, contribute to the overall research efforts of the laboratory, advance knowledge in the areas of basic and applied research, and strengthen our national scientific and technical capabilities.

INL postdoctoral research associates are selected through a competitive bid process. Postdoctoral assignments range from one to three years and include a comprehensive benefits package.
