Office of Grant Management's Guide to General Operating Support Grants for State Councils

January 28, 2013 | By Federal/State Partnership Staff

General Operating Support grants are the primary way NEH and the Office of Federal/State Partnership provides funding to the 56 state and jurisdictional humanities councils.

Have you ever wondered exactly how General Operating Support grants work? Do you need a refresher-course, or even initial introduction, to operating support grants to state humanities councils? Robert Straughter, Grants Administrator in the Office of Grant Management, has kindly put together a slide presentation that is typically offered in-person at the Federation of State Humanities Councils annual humanities conference, or via webinar on an as-needed basis. The slides provide an overview of the general operating report award, updates on eGMS, the federal financial report, FSRS, and FFTA.

Contact Robert at rstraughter@neh.gov with any questions regarding the slides or general operating support grants.

Detailed information regarding policies and forms directly applicable to state humanities councils is available via the Office of Grants Management.
