How often is it covered?

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers a foot exam every 6 months as long as you haven't seen a foot care professional for another reason between visits.

Who's eligible?

All people with Medicare who have diabetes, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and loss of protective sensations are covered.

Your costs in Original Medicare

• You pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for the doctor's service, and the Part B deductible applies. 
• In a hospital outpatient setting, you pay a copayment.
