Welcome to Castle Rocks State Park
With hundreds of routes to explore, the challenging landscape of Castle Rocks State Park attracts rock climbers from around the world and provides superb hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding in the midst of a dramatic backdrop that dates back 2.5 million years.
Remnants of Native American pictographs, the California National Historic Trail and 20th century ranching are visible in the park today.

Unique Overnight Stays at Castle Rocks
THE LODGE AT CASTLE ROCK RANCH
“The Lodge” is a century-old ranch house completely remodeled to blend the quaintness of yester-year with the convenience and comforts of today. The Lodge is available year-round, and reservations are recommended.
What’s inside?
The Lodge offers a master bedroom with queen-size bed, flat screen TV/DVD and reading room/den. A TV room with flip-flop sofa converts into a sleeping room for two. A third sleeping room provides a double/twin bunk bed for up to three, and a fourth, “the quiet room” has a twin bed, desk, and private deck.
Other rooms include the fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom with tub/shower, dining area, and living room with propane fireplace.
Other amenities include:
· Wi-Fi network: usage fee applies
· Play Station
· Books, games, DVD’s
· Outdoor deck, tables and seating for four people
Rental Fee and Reservations
Exclusive rental of The Lodge for Idaho Resident (1-8 people) is $159* a night. Non-Resident (1-8 people) is $174.90* a night. Campers will be required to pay the $5 per day, per vehicle or purchase an Idaho State Parks Passport or Annual Pass.
Castle Rocks for groups
THE BUNKHOUSE
Castle Rocks State Park now offers “The Bunkhouse” for rent, located next to The Lodge at Castle Rock Ranch. This facility is perfect for family reunions and scout groups. The Bunkhouse offers a rustic, primitive, hostel-style lodging in a communal setting. Guests are housed in an open, one room building with scenic Castle Rocks as the backdrop to the experience.
What’s inside?
A comfortable 20x26-foot living area, accommodating from 8 to 12 occupants, that consists of a kitchen/dining area and sleeping-quarters.
The Bunkhouse is equipped with electricity, a hot-water sink, and trash receptacles. Furniture includes table, chairs, food storage hutch, and wood-burning fireplace for heating. Three bunk-beds (twin over full), a single twin-bed, and a single full-bed (8 beds total) allows for a maximum of 12 individuals. Camp mattresses are provided on all beds. Guests must supply their own sleeping bag, cooking equipment, food, towels and other personal gear. An outside vault toilet is located near-by and showers are available at Smoky Mtn. CG.
Rental Fee and Reservations
Exclusive rental of The Bunkhouse for Idaho Resident is $106* a night. Non-Idaho Resident fee is $116.60* a night. Individuals may walk in to rent a bed for one night at a time for $12.72*. No more than 12 people may occupy the facility per night. All campers are subject to the $5 per day, per vehicle fee.
All “Individual Walk-ins” must check in and pay at the Visitor Center before 4:30 p.m. on the day of their arrival or contact the camp host located behind the Bunkhouse. *Includes sales tax

The Idaho State Parks Passport: Your State Park Saving Option!
The Idaho State Parks Passport allows Idaho motorists to support Idaho State Parks by agreeing to pay an additional $10 in conjunction with renewing their license plates through the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and County Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Offices. The Passport sticker allows participating Idahoans unlimited daytime entry to Idaho state parks, IDPR operated recreation areas and boating access sites. The Passport will also provide nightly discounts on camping.
When you pay the additional $10 for your passport, you'll receive a sticker that will adhere to your motor vehicle. The sticker will provide unlimited access to all 30 state parks for the entire registration year.
Out-of-state guests will have a savings option too, with the purchase of an Idaho State Park Motor Vehicle Entry Fee (MVEF) Annual.

Our out-of-state guests have savings options too! You can purchase a $40 Motor Vehicle Entry Fee (MVEF) Annual and receive access to all of Idaho's State Parks and nightly discounts on camping. MVEF Annuals can be purchased at any Idaho State Park and online.

Have you always wanted to camp outdoors, bike, fish or engage in paddle sport, but didn’t know the basics, have the proper equipment, or even know where to go? Our First Time Adventure Program brings families and the great outdoors together! We host a fun-filled, outdoor experience for first-time adventurers. Our park's knowledgeable and friendly staff will provide you with gear, show you the ropes and make sure you have fun in the process.
