Vision
The Office of Professional Responsibility (formerly Office of Inspection) is committed to ensuring the agency’s core values: Justice, Integrity and Service.

Mission
The Office of Professional Responsibility ensures accountability and integrity of United States Marshals Service (USMS) programs, personnel and financial activities. The Office of Professional Responsibility is comprised of Internal Affairs, Compliance Review, and Discipline Management.

• Internal Affairs ensures all allegations of misconduct and integrity violations are analyzed and investigated in compliance with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and USMS policies and procedures.
• Compliance Review conducts examinations of USMS districts, divisions and individual program areas. Compliance Review ensures components are in compliance with established DOJ and USMS policies and procedures.
• Discipline Management provides expert support for USMS Discipline Officials and agency managers in addressing matters of employee misconduct; so they may make sound and impartial proposals and decisions related to misconduct and adverse actions.

We are committed to that objective, recognizing that we do not tolerate prejudice, abuse, or any other improper acts by our agency or its employees.
