Three distinct day use units make up Lucky Peak State Park. Discovery is a popular roadside park that is a great place to host a company party or family reunion. Sandy Point, at the base of the Lucky Peak Dam is popular for its sandy beach and clear cool water. Spring Shores offers lakeside access for water enthusiasts by providing two boat ramps, parking, a marina, on-site watercraft rentals and a convenience store.

Welcome to Lucky Peak State Park
Lucky Peak State Park is the perfect place to get away for a swim, picnic, fishing, boating or biking. The park is a 10-minute car ride fromdowntown Boise or a 30 minute bike ride on the scenic Boise River Greenbelt. Ride your bike to the park and enjoy a cool dip in the Sandy Point beach. Bring your family and your dog to Discovery Park for a picnic or bring your water toys to Spring Shores which offers boat ramps, ample parking, a full-service marina, on-site watercraft rentals and a convenience store.

Discovery Park
Located just 8 miles southeast of Boise, Discovery Park is a great place to picnic, fish, and relax among the magnificent trees and the rocky canyons which offer beauty and solitude.
This section of the Boise River is an excellent flat water area often visited by canoeists and kayakers. You will usually see waterfowl, song birds, and our resident owl during the summer while bald eagles are common in the winter.
Dogs Welcome
Discovery is an excellent place for dogs to play! Please clean up after your pet (doggy bag dispensers are located by the dumpsters) and please keep your four-legged friends leashed when not playing in the water.

The sheltered picnic pavilions are perfect for hosting family reunions, weddings, receptions, or corporate parties. Shelters can be reserved starting at $53 (inludes tax) a day and on up depending on number of attendees. Please call (208) 334-2432 for reservations.
Sandy Point
If you like fun in the sun, the beach at Sandy Point is the place for you and your family. Enjoy a dip in the cool water after a scenic bike ride on the Boise River Greenbelt! This 34-acre site at the base of Lucky Peak Dam features a large sandy swimming area complete with water toys and two beach volleyball courts. Sandy Point offers lots of cool grass and shady trees.

What is Not Allowed at Sandy Point?
- Pets are not allowed at Sandy Point.
- Glass containers and fishing are prohibited.
- No hard bottom boats in the swimming area (we recommend Discovery Park for fun in the water).

Spring Shores Marina
Spring Shores, located 18 miles southeast of Boise off State Highway 21, is situated on the shore of Lucky Peak Lake. The facility includes a full-service marina, which provides long-term moorage, fuel, a convenience store, marina supplies and recreation equipment rentals. The large parking lots provide access to two boat ramps with parking for trailers.
Moorage Tips
Lucky Peak is a reservoir, which means the water level varies. You may want to check boat ramp access before bringing your boat to the park. Learn more tips.
Boat and personal watercraft rentals
Want to rent a boat or jet ski for use at Spring Shores? Boats and personal watercraft are available for rent through Outdoor Adventures Incorporated. Call (208) 367-9130 or (208) 386-9846.

- 18 foot slip - $494 per year (max vessel length of 21')

The Idaho State Parks Passport: Your State Park Saving Option!
The Idaho State Parks Passport allows Idaho motorists to support Idaho State Parks by agreeing to pay an additional $10 in conjunction with renewing their license plates through the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) and County Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Offices. The Passport sticker allows participating Idahoans unlimited daytime entry to Idaho state parks, IDPR operated recreation areas and boating access sites. The Passport will also provide nightly discounts on camping.
When you pay the additional $10 for your passport, you'll receive a sticker that will adhere to your motor vehicle. The sticker will provide unlimited access to all 30 state parks for the entire registration year.
Out-of-state guests will have a savings option too, with the purchase of an Idaho State Park Motor Vehicle Entry Fee (MVEF) Annual.

Our First Time Adventure Program brings families and the great outdoors together! We host a fun-filled, outdoor experience for first-time adventurers. Our park's knowledgeable and friendly staff will provide you with gear, show you the ropes and make sure you have fun in the process.
