2017 Commission Meeting Schedule

The Fish and Game Commission usually holds a public hearing in conjunction with each regular meeting. Members of the public who want to address the commission on any topic having to do with Fish and Game business may do so at the public hearing. All testimony will be taken into consideration when the commission makes decisions on agenda items at the meetings.

January 25-26, 2017 / Annual Meeting

  • Location: Boise, ID
  • Public Hearing: January 25
  • Routine Agenda Items: JFAC budget preview; Season setting for moose, sheep, and goat (biennial 2017). Big Game Briefing. Appointment of Winter Feeding Advisory Committee Members. Legislative Update. Season Setting: Upland Game, Furbearers & Turkey (biennial 2016).

March 15-16, 2017 / Special Meeting

  • Location: Boise, ID
  • Public Hearing: March 15
  • Routine Agenda Items: Legislative update; Season setting: deer, elk, pronghorn, bear, mountain lion, wolves (biennial 2017). Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals. Season Setting: Chinook salmon. Migratory game birds briefing.

May 17-18, 2017 / Quarterly Meeting

  • Location: Salmon, ID
  • Public Hearing: May 17
  • Routine Agenda Items: Season setting: Chinook salmon; FY19 budget direction. Season Setting: Migratory game birds (waterfowl seasons and limits). Season Setting: sandhill cranes and doves. Commission direction on the expenditure of Wolf control Board funds. Election of Commission chair, vice-chair. Briefing on auction and lottery tags. Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals.

July 26-27-28, 2017 / Quarterly Meeting

  • Location: Coeur d’Alene, ID
  • Public Hearing: July 26
  • Routine Agenda Items: Nonbiological rules briefing for all game animals; Rules: nonresident deer and elk tag quotas; nonresident deer and elk tag outfitter set-aside; Consider release of bighorn sheep tags for auction and lottery; Commission direction on the expenditure of Animal Damage Control funds; legislative proposals; FY19 Preliminary Budget to Commission. Season Setting: Chinook salmon. Discounts for 2nd non resident tags.
