The Transportation Services Division (TSD) provides comments to federal transportation regulatory agencies, including the Surface Transportation Board and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration, on behalf of agricultural shippers under authority given the Secretary of Agriculture by §201 of the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 (pdf) and § 204(j) of the Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 (pdf).
Upon request, TSD staff provides certification for U.S. refrigerated transportation equipment exported to countries participating in the Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs and on the Special Equipment to be Used for such Carriage (pdf).
