What We Do:

Established in February 2005, NIDA's AIDS Research Program (ARP) supports the development, planning, and coordination of high priority research on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse within NIDA as well as across NIH Institutes and other DHHS agencies. ARP ensures that there an integrated vision and strategy to guide HIV/AIDS research throughout NIDA that is responsive to the evolving nature of HIV/AIDS disease among drug users in the U.S. and internationally and that meets the goals of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy https://www.aids.gov/federal-resources/national-hiv-aids-strategy/overview/ and NIH HIV/AIDS Research Priorities http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-15-137.html. To help NIDA researchers better understand the new NIH HIV/AIDS research priorities and the administrative procedures implemented to ensure that AIDS appropriated funds are supporting high priority research, NIDA conducted a webinar which provided an overview of these priorities.
