OMG PI and most of our crew. We all landed safe today and got 5 good ocean profile measurement along the way. Only 245 more to go. #NASA #OMG #Greenland
Tomorrow is the big day! OMG heads for West Greenland to drop the first air-deployed temperature and salinity probes in the surrounding seass. This map shows the 250 locations where we plan to measure the ocean temperature and salinity. This will allow us to map out the places on the shelf that have warm, salty water, which has the potential to melt the glaciers very quickly. We will spend the next few days in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, which is about 1/3 of the way up the west coast filling out the southwest portion of the survey. #omg #nasa #science #greenland.
