A year has passed since nearly 200 countries adopted the historic Paris agreement on climate. Check out what has happened since then:
- The international community worked quickly to bring the Paris agreement into force, as enough countries formally ratified the pact just 10 months after the December 2015 meeting.
- The world in 2016 invested more money in clean energy than fossil fuels.
- Every day in 2016, the world installed half a million solar panels, as businesses, governments and people like you took climate action.
- In America alone, 2.5 million people, more than the population of Paris, are working in the clean-energy sector.
But the work continues. How will you #ActOnClimate in 2017?
“Every individual can make a difference,” Secretary of State John Kerry said at November’s U.N. climate summit in Morocco. “I’m counting on you.”
