Biography

Sabrina Matoff-Stepp is the director of the Office of Women’s Health, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  She serves in a leadership capacity on women’s health program and policy issues for HRSA senior managers and with other agencies in the Department. 

Examples of Sabrina’s commitment to women’s health include the Global Health Initiative Women, Girls, and Gender Equality Task Force; leadership for the Bright Futures for Women’s Health and Wellness Initiative, and expert group facilitation for the AHRQ Evidence-based Practice Center, Management and Treatment of Eating Disorders Report.  In 2010, Sabrina received the HHSinnovates award for her role in the development of the text4baby service for pregnant women and new mothers.

Prior to coming to HRSA in 1998, Sabrina worked as a grants administrative coordinator for the FDA Office of Orphan Products Development.

In 2009, Sabrina was selected as one of 20 Our Bodies, Ourselves Women’s Health Heroes from more than 100 nominations from 12 countries. She has a Ph.D. in community and public health from the University of Maryland, College Park.
