Evidence Matters
Evidence Matters is PD&R's quarterly publication that demonstrates HUD’s commitment to evidence-based policymaking. Each quarterly issue focuses on a key theme and highlights policy-relevant research that connects policymakers at all levels, as well as researchers, advocates, and industry members, with clear, accessible, and timely information. Current Issue: Housing, Community Development, and the Digital Divide (Fall 2016)
The latest Evidence Matters focuses on digital inclusion, which has become increasingly essential for individuals, families, and communities to reach their full potential. The lead article, “Community Development and the Digital Divide,” reviews the causes and costs of digital inequality and programs and strategies to close remaining disparities. The Research Spotlight article, “Digital Inequality and Low-Income Households,” discusses frameworks for understanding digital inequality, statistics on the connectivity of U.S. households with an emphasis on HUD-assisted households, and HUD’s ConnectHome initiative.
