Contract Positions

Many Greater Atlantic Regional Fisheries Office employees started out as employees for companies that have contracts with NOAA Fisheries.  Contract employees provide support in varied roles including; fishery monitors, protected species observers, fishery biologists, environmental assessment analysts, technical writers and editors, data entry positions, computer programmers, computer network support, natural resource law enforcement, natural resource attorneys, and other functions.  Each contract company secures employees differently.  Their websites include information on applying for current openings, and submitting a resume for future consideration.

The Northeast Fisheries Science Center provides a list of approved contract companies that train fishery monitors and species observers for marine activities that may affect endangered and threatened species.
