SAMHSA Comment Policy

The SAMHSA comment policy encourages focused and respectful interaction.

Respectful Interaction

We welcome your comments and want to keep our discussions respectful and useful. Please follow these guidelines when posting:

Stay Focused

All viewpoints are welcome, but comments should remain relevant to the website, page, video, photo, or post to which you're commenting. If you would like to contact SAMHSA about another topic, please email us at newmedia@samhsa.hhs.gov.

Be Respectful

Constructive interaction is welcome. Personal attacks, foul language, and aggressive behavior are not.

Tell the Truth

Be careful of your facts. Spreading misleading or false information is not allowed.

Do Not Spam

Repeated posting of identical or very similar content is counter-productive. SAMHSA new media sites are for informative discussion. Do not send posts that aggressively promote services or products.

Comment Approval

SAMHSA keeps records of unapproved comments to limit spamming and inappropriate postings. Comments will not be approved if they contain:

  • Commercial endorsements
  • Discriminatory, racist, offensive, obscene, inflammatory, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable language or content

NOTE: Following SAMHSA or passing on SAMHSA content does not imply SAMHSA endorsement. The SAMHSA Comment Policy is subject to change without notice. Please review this policy periodically for changes.
