Tenant Satisfaction Survey

Health and Wellness

Wellness and sustainability are key priorities for today's Federal Government. Agencies throughout Government are seeking ways to support the Presidential directives and Executive Orders that call for improvement in employee health and streamlined business practices to reduce their carbon footprint. At GSA, we have a unique opportunity to support these goals through the building amenities we provide.

We bear a responsibility to take care of our people. As the largest employer in the Nation, the Federal Government must lead the effort to enhance employee wellness programs. We must become role models for creating change in the workplace and supporting a more active work environment. GSA can help our customers do this through amenities like fitness centers, healthy cafeteria and vending services, and bicycle commuting programs.

The Federal Government has a responsibility to promote sustainability and demonstrate its commitment to environmental stewardship. Executive Order 13514, “Federal Leadership in Environmental, Energy, and Economic Performance”, has made sustainability and the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions a priority for Federal agencies. GSA is using its expertise to support its customer agencies in reducing the government’s GHG emissions, such as those from building energy use and commuting, by encouraging tenants to Consider the Stairs, supporting bicycle commuting and promoting local agriculture through farmer’s markets and gardens on Federal property. Green Teams
