Ileana Arias, PhD, is the Acting Deputy Director for Public Health Science and Surveillance (DDPHSS). In this role, Dr. Arias works at the intersection of public health, healthcare, and health IT to advance agency-wide science, surveillance, and data priorities and strategies. She directs four CDC centers and offices and serves as an advisor to the CDC Director. She is also a lead for CDC’s Data Modernization Initiative (DMI).
