Libraries and museums help meet the essential informational, educational, research, economic, cultural, and civic needs of the people of the United States. The IMLS Strategic Plan targets agency goals focused on positive public outcomes for communities and individuals. Additional agency focus areas align with agency and stakeholder-identified goals and with high priority areas of national interest. These goals strategic create a roadmap for carrying out our federal mandate to help America create 21st century institutions provide essential educational and cultural opportunities.
