Donate to the Institute of Museum and Library Services

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums. Our mission is to inspire libraries and museums to advance innovation, lifelong learning, and cultural and civic engagement. Through our grant making, policy development, and research, we help libraries and museums deliver valuable services that make it possible for communities and individuals to thrive.

IMLS programs benefit from the generosity of donors, including foundations, corporations, and private individuals. Your support can further enhance our programs and activities and help to make sure that vital museum and library services are available to communities and individuals throughout the United States.

You may be inspired to give because museums and libraries have changed your life and you want to give back so that others may be similarly impacted, or you may wish to give to celebrate, honor, or memorialize the life of someone you love.

There are many different ways in which you can help to support IMLS’s programs and activities. You may give an annual gift, or contribute as part of a matching program with your employer. You may give by including a bequest in your will, or by incorporating a deferred gift in your estate planning.  All donations to IMLS are tax deductible.
