Appalachian Businesses to Explore Export Opportunities in Asia through May 2012 Trade Winds Asia Forum

April 2012

A delegation of 30 Appalachian business leaders will participate in the Trade Winds Asia Forum, a U.S. Department of Commerce business development conference and trade mission to be held in Singapore May 14–22, 2012. The ARC-supported forum will give businesses an opportunity to identify market opportunities in south Asia, learn about commercial issues, and access the resources of the U.S. Commercial Service. They will also be able to meet with U.S. Commercial Service attaches from 14 Asian countries to discuss company-specific opportunities and challenges, and hold pre-screened business-to-business meetings with companies in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.

The delegation is being coordinated for ARC's Export Trade Advisory Council by the U.S. Commercial Service. Helping lead the Appalachian delegation are international trade representatives from five Appalachian states: Mississippi, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and West Virginia.

Complete information on the forum is available on the Trade Winds Asia Forum Web site.
