EUA

All CMS EUA User Ids must be certified annually during the anniversary month in which they were created.

Recertification is a three step process:

Step 1:  The user requests system access certification via EUA Passport (internal CMS users) or EUA Passport (external users).

Step 2:  The user must complete the CMS Information Security & Privacy Computer Based Training (CBT) (only required for user Types; CMS Employees, CMS Rotation, CMS Commissioned Corps, DHHS BHRC, CITIC, DMAC, Contractor Non-Medicare, Researcher and Other) by navigating to the CBT website (https://www.cms.gov/cbt/login/).

Step 3:  The user's 1st Approver must approve the system access request from step 1 above

Steps 1 & 2 are completed via EUA Passport and step 3 is completed by the 1st Approver via EUA Workflow, see the links below

Users must initiate action for certification as soon as the e-mail notification is received.  Users accounts will be REVOKED on the 1st day of the month following their certification month unless all 3 steps above have been completed by the last day of the certification month.  Users who have their accounts revoked must contact the CMS IT Service Desk at 410-786-2580 or 1-800-562-1963 or via e-mail to CMS_IT_Service_Desk@cms.hhs.gov to have access to their account temporarily restored. Temporary restoration of access is only for the purpose of completing all 3 steps of certification.
