The Cobbly Nob fire is managed by the South Atlantic Incident Management Team within park boundaries and the Tennessee Division of Forestry on private lands.

Cass Palmer's Type III team will transfer command to the National Park Service Type IV organization on Thursday, December 15 at 8:00 a.m.

A cold front moved in Wednesday evening bringing another shot of cold air into Thursday. In the wake of the cold front today, there will be a slight chance of light snow showers into Thursday morning. Thursday will be very cold but temperatures will increase on Friday. A chance of rain persists for Saturday.
