2011 PIH Improper Payments Elimination & Recovery Celebration (Air Date: October 27, 2011)

Description: This celebratory event is acknowledge the great work of Public Housing Agencies/Authorities in recovering improper payments on behalf of deceased tenants participating in HUD’s Section 8 and Housing Choice Voucher programs.

Target Audience:  Program administrators, including PHA-hired management agents and consultants that administer the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and/or Section 8 programs under the jurisdiction of HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH); HUD PIH staff, Office of Inspector General (OIG) staff, and the general public. 


2011 Updated PIH EIV System 9.2.1 Training - Part 1 (Air Date:  October 27, 2011 - Morning Session)

Description:  This training provides Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) with updates made to the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system 9.2.1 as of the October 31, 2011, system release date.  This training also provides guidance for effective use of the various EIV reports to reduce improper payments within the Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs; and provide an overview of HUD’s monitoring of PHA compliance with mandated use of EIV.    All EIV system users are required to view this training.   

Target Audience:  Program administrators, including PHA-hired management agents and consultants that administer the Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and/or Section 8 programs under the jurisdiction of HUD’s Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH); and HUD PIH staff and Office of Inspector General (OIG) staff.  


2011 Initial PIH EIV System 9.2.1 Training – Part 2 (Air Date:  October 27, 2011 - Afternoon Session)

Description:  This training provides Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) with a comprehensive understanding of the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) system and how to use EIV to streamline the income verification process and reduce administrative errors and improper payments within HUD rental housing assistance programs.  This training also provides guidance for effective use of the various EIV system functions to reduce improper payments within the Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher programs; and how to address and effectively correct program deficiencies to ensure limited federal dollars serve as many eligible families as possible in the PHA’s community.  All new EIV system users are required to complete this training prior to obtaining access to the EIV system.

(Note:  This is a continuation of the October 27, 2011, EIV training session.)
