Iowa’s Unemployment Rate Drops to 3.6 Percent in December
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 percent in December. The state’s jobless rate was 3.5 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate increased to 4.7 percent in December.
Branstad, Reynolds Announce Launch of Future Ready Iowa Website
Today, at the Administration’s weekly press conference, Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the launch of the Future Ready Iowa website. The Future Ready Iowa website is a one-stop shop where students and adults can review and evaluate different career opportunities in Iowa and plan their path to landing a rewarding job. The website helps identify education and training needed as well as financial resources that may be available.
UI Payment Announcement
Payments for the week ending January 14, 2017 will be issued the evening of January 17, 2017 if you have reported your weekly continued claim. You will not be able to check the status of your UI claim for week ending January 14, 2017 until January 18, 2017.
