NIS Related Reports

The National (Nationwide) Inpatient Sample (NIS) is the largest publically available all-payer inpatient care database in the United States, containing data on more than seven million hospital stays each year.

Note: The NIS underwent a redesign for the 2012 data year. For more details, refer to the NIS Redesign Report. To do trends analysis using earlier data years, use NIS Trend Weights
