Tennessee Students Get "Financial Football" Game

Middle and high school students across Tennessee are getting an early Christmas gift from Tennessee State Treasurer David H. Lillard Jr.

Treasurer Lillard is distributing computer discs with copies of the "Financial Football" game to public school districts across the state. The interactive video game, developed by Visa Inc. and promoted by the National Football League and the Tennessee Jump$tart Coalition, provides a fun way for students to test their knowledge of budget planning, saving, spending and investing concepts. more...

Treasurer LillardWelcome to the State of Tennessee's Treasury Department home page. The Treasury Department is one of three legislative agencies within State government. Its major functions include:

  • Receiving and disbursing public funds.
  • Managing all State investments, including the pension fund.
  • Administering three major employee benefit programs, including the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, the Deferred Compensation Program, and the Flexible Benefits Plan.
  • Operating the Unclaimed Property, College Savings (Section 529 Plans), and Small and Minority-Owned Business programs.
  • Overseeing the risk management program and handling and adjudicating all claims made against the State.

The Investment Committee of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (“TCRS”) will be meeting at 9:45 a.m. (Central Time) on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the State Capitol, Ground Floor in the Executive Conference Room in Nashville, Tennessee.  The Committee will be reviewing TCRS’ investments.
