Description:

The Education Technology topic supports research that applies advances in technology to education practice to improve student achievement and progress through the education system.

Through this topic, the Institute is interested in the development and evaluation of education technology products intended for use in schools or through formal programs (e.g., after-school programs, distance learning programs, on-line programs) run by schools or state and local education agencies. These products are to have a strongly justified (theoretically, pedagogically, and empirically) scope and sequence of their content and a developmentally-appropriate user-interface for students.

The long-term outcome of this research will be an array of education technology tools that have been documented to be efficacious for improving learning in authentic preK and K-12 education settings.
