Publication Justice Expenditure and Employment Extracts, 2012 - Preliminary

Presents data from the Census Bureau's Annual Survey of State and Local Government Finances and Annual Survey of Public Employment and Payroll. It also presents federal data obtained from the Budget of the United States Government, Fiscal Year 2014. This series includes estimates of government expenditures and employment at the national, federal, state, and local levels for the following justice categories: police protection, all judicial and legal functions (including prosecution, courts, and public defense), and corrections. Data for large local governments (counties with populations of 500,000 or more and cities with populations of 300,000 or more) are also included. These data are preliminary and subject to change.
