A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection anywhere in the urinary tract. The urinary tract makes and stores urine and removes it from the body. UTIs are easily treated with antibiotics, but untreated UTIs can damage your kidneys. You can take steps at home to help prevent UTIs.
