EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF

Emergency Authorization for Disaster Relief – Domestic and International

The Drug Enforcement Administration, Diversion Control Division, has established this link for emergency disaster requests only by DEA Registrants requesting authorization to quickly move controlled substances in response to domestic or international disaster relief efforts.

Requests to transport controlled substances for international medical missions that are not part of a current disaster or emergency should be directed to: Medical.Mission@usdoj.gov

Requests for DEA emergency authorization involving controlled substances may be relayed through this website 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Requests must be approved by DEA before the movement of controlled substances is authorized.

To expedite your request, please e-mail the following information 48 hours in advance of your proposed travel to:

  1. E-mail subject line must state: Domestic Request or International Request
  2. Registrant Name
  3. DEA Registration Number
  4. Contact Information:
    • Office Telephone Number

  6. Travel Date, Time, and Method of Travel
  7. Complete List of Controlled Substance(s) to be transported including:
    Drug Name, Strength, Form, and Total Quantity
