Founded in 1947, SEAOCC is the Central California division of SEAOC. SEAOCC membership encompasses the central valley of California, stretching from the Oregon border to the north, Nevada (inclusive) to the east, Vacaville to the west, and Tulare County to the south. The Structural Engineers Association of Southern California was established in 1929 by small group of Southern California engineers in the private practice of structural engineering. The purpose of the group was to promote the profession of structural engineering and to provide for the discussion of common problems, ethical, technical and economic. 
Founded in 1930, the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC) is committed to the advancement and incorporation of the state-of-the-art in structural engineering standards and practices through applied research, continuing education, and the promotion of professional relations among Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical Engineers. 
The formation of the Structural Engineers Association of San Diego took place over a period of about 12 years beginning in the mid 1950′s. At that time a small group of Structural Engineers in private practice began to meet for lunch occasionally for the purpose of exchanging views and discussing problems of mutual concern.
