HCUP Data Use Agreement Training
This Web-based training tool explains important requirements for the use of HCUP data.
 
 
Welcome to the HCUP Data Use Agreement (DUA) Training!

All purchasers and users of HCUP data must complete the HCUP Data Use Agreement (DUA) Training Course and sign an HCUP DUA before receipt of the data.

This page takes you to a short Web-based training course that quickly outlines important points in the DUA. The course will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. The purpose of the course is to:
  • Emphasize the importance of data protection
  • Reduce the risk of inadvertent violations
  • Describe your individual responsibility when using HCUP data.
After completing the training course, you will receive an HCUP DUA Training Course certification code. Please retain this code for your records; it will be required to purchase HCUP data. New users will not be required to take the course more than once.

If you are a long-time user of HCUP databases and your DUA training code is in the format "HCUP-XXXX-XXX" where "X" is a letter or digit, we ask that you retake this training to obtain a new certification code. The online ordering system will only accept current certification codes.

To launch the course, please click on one of the links below. There are two versions of the course. The Interactive version requires the following: Flash 10 to be installed on your computer, audio enabled, and pop-up blockers temporarily disabled. As an alternative, you may review a text version of the course by clicking on the Section 508-Compliant version of the course.
