County Data Resources
DATA2020 includes national data for all Healthy People objectives. You can also find state-level data and state-level mapping functionality for some objectives. Be sure to check back often—we will continue to add state-level data and maps for objectives as they become available. Learn more about Healthy People 2020 data and objectives.
To supplement DATA2020 national data resources, HealthyPeople.gov provides links to data resources that track data related to Healthy People 2020 objectives at the county level.
How were these resources identified?
Health Indicators Warehouse
Some Healthy People 2020 objectives have county-level data available at the Health Indicators Warehouse (HIW), a comprehensive source for data on national, state, and county health indicators. Note that the HIW site began a retirement phase on June 30, 2016—it will remain available for use in its current state until April 15, 2017, but will no longer be updated.
County Health Rankings
The County Health Rankings (CHR) program measures the health of nearly all counties in the Nation. In addition to rankings, CHR includes robust data and mapping tools at the state and county levels. CHR is a collaboration between the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.
