File Viewing Information

FLV (Flash): Video files on the web. Links to videos will envoke  JWPlayer, no video player is needed on your computer. To view the synchronized text version with the video, click on "High Contrast Captions" or Alt+Ctrl+C.

MOV: Video files on the web. These files are formatted to be viewed using Apple Quicktime. A free version of the player is available from Apple's Web site.

WMV: Video files on the web. These file can be viewed using RealPlayer or Windows Media Player. The RealPlayer is available from Real's Web site and the Window's Media Player is available from Microsoft's Download Center.

DOC (MS Word): Documents formatted in Microsoft word processing software. A viewer for reading and printing these files is available from Microsoft's Download Center.

HTML or HTM (HyperText Markup Language): The web versions of documents, complete with hyperlinks to referenced information, as available. Use these files if you want to read the document online with your browser.

MP3 (Audio Files): Audio files on the web. You must have a recent version of RealPlayer or Windows Media Player to play these files. The RealPlayer is available from Real's Web site and the Window's Media Player is available from Microsoft's Download Center.

PDF (Portable Document Format): A universal file format that preserves the look and layout of a printed document. These files are accessible through a free viewer published by Adobe. Select this file type if you want to print a copy of the document. PDF files cannot be edited electronically. For PDF accessibility options go to http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/index.html or access.adobe.com. The newest version of Acrobat Reader has the ability to read documents aloud.

PPT (MS PowerPoint): Slide show presentations. A viewer for reading and printing these files is available from Microsoft's Download Center.

XLS (MS Excel Format): Spreadsheets. A viewer for reading and printing these files is available from Microsoft's Download Center.

SWF: Adobe (previously Macromedia) Flash files. You must have a recent version of the Adobe Flash Player. The player is available from Adobe's Web site.
