Research Vessels

Our research vessels are used to perform a wide variety of research activities in support of NOAA's mission to protect, restore and manage the use of living marine, coastal, and ocean resources through ecosystem-based management. These activities include the study and monitoring of Northeast marine fisheries throughout New England; the observation of weather, sea state, and other environmental conditions; habitat assessments; and marine mammal and bird population surveys.
