A Collaborative National Center for Fusion & Plasma Research

Off Site University Research (OSUR)

The PPPL Off-Site University Research (OSUR) Program provides scientific outreach to a broad range of U.S. colleges and universities in various areas of plasma and fusion science.  These areas include: plasma theory and simulation; plasma experiments; plasma diagnostics; undergraduate plasma education; engineering support; and safety.  This support is provided to approximately 25 university and college groups and our goal is to create as many partnershis as possible within the academic community.  Besides seeking new university plasma physics projects to provide engineering and technical support, we also are seeking collaborations with leaders of small colleges who are interested in creating plasma physics projects to supplement their undergraduate science education programs as well as those at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) with an interest in plasma physics.  Over the years we have been able to support every reasonable request from both small colleges and large university programs.
