Energy Action Month

Energy Action Month

SUCCESS COMES IN ALL SIZES.  BIG OR SMALL, YOUR ACTIONS CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE.

As proclaimed by President Obama, October marks Energy Action Month, and the nation is looking to the federal government to provide leadership in energy management and sustainability.

Federal agencies are working diligently to meet the challenging goals of Executive Order 13693: Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade, the Energy Independence and Security Action of 2007, and the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and are making tremendous progress toward these goals through the implementation of projects and programs across the federal government. Whether these efforts are implemented campus-wide or in individual remote facilities, every action taken by the hard-working employees at our defense and civilian agencies contributes to our national success.

Read more about exciting initiatives and programs that exemplify federal leadership, including the Presidential Performance Contracting Challenge, the Better Buildings Smart Labs Accelerator and Data Center Accelerator, the Large Campus and Innovative Change Initiative, and federal renewable energy projects and deployment tools.

Through projects big and small, every day federal agencies are making the difference to meet stringent energy management goals, and we continue to lead our nation to a secure, clean, and prosperous energy future. For inspiration about how your agency can save energy and water and meet your agency’s critical mission goals, see the Federal Energy and Water Management Awards section, where you'll find information about model federal projects.
