    The FHWA Center for Transportation Workforce Development will host an informational webinar to introduce the 2017 National Summer Transportation Institute Awareness Program. The webinar will cover program purpose, host eligibility requirements, roles and responsibilities and provide an overview of the 2017 application process. The target audience for the webinar includes FHWA civil rights specialists and staff members from state departments of transportation.

    The FHWA Center for Transportation Workforce Development - Universities and Grants Programs will host the Dwight David Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program Transportation Research Showcase at the 96th TRB Annual Meeting in January 2017. The showcase will feature transportation focused research completed by undergraduate and graduate school students. The Showcase will extend across three exhilarating days and include over 50 presentations from students, transportation education champions, and industry leaders, concluding with the Eisenhower Showcase Networking and Closing Ceremony. The target audience for the Showcase includes TRB Annual Meeting attendees, department of transportation administrators, transportation researchers, representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions.

  • 19th Annual National Tribal Transportation Conference

    The 19th National Tribal Transportation Conference will explore technology, planning, project management, safety, technical, leadership, and transit as they relate to tribal transportation projects. Each track will explore a different aspect of the transportation profession. These presentations may provide panel, interactive or lecture experiences ranging from 45 - 90 minutes. The conference will also include a Heavy Equipment Roadeo, an enjoyable interactive event geared towards field service workers and supervisors. Each group will have a chance to participate in events based around different pieces of equipment. The events will include obstacle courses or specific tasks that show off the operators' skills and ability to handle equipment.

  • Innovation in Practice Webinar Series: Priced Managed Lanes - State of the Practice

    This dynamic webinar will examine different approaches that state departments of transportation have taken with regard to the development, funding/financing, and operation of priced managed lanes projects in the United States. The webinar will highlight the Minnesota (MnPass) Express Lanes, Northern Virginia Express Lane Network, and the Southeast Florida Express Lane Network. The webinar will include an overview of priced managed lanes, highlights of the featured projects, including interviews with key project participants, and an overview of the resources available from the FHWA Offices of Operations and Innovative Program Delivery. The webinar will end with a live Q&A with key project participants from the featured projects.
