Los Alamos National Laboratory: Technology Transfer/Commercialization in Support of Our National Interests

Los Alamos National Laboratory is a premier national security research institution, delivering scientific and engineering solutions for the nation's most crucial and complex problems. Our principle mission areas are:

  • Ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent;
  • Reducing the threat from weapons of mass destruction; and
  • Solving other emerging national security challenges (e.g., energy security).

In addition to supporting the Lab's core national security mission, our work supports advances in bioscience, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, materials science, and physics disciplines.

Through our intellectual property licensing and collaborative R&D programs, we partner with industry to enhance competitiveness and strengthen the U.S. economy by finding solutions to complex technology problems faced by businesses and by accelerating the transition of Laboratory technologies to products and services.
