Plant Sex Ed

February 5 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Stems, soil, petals and pollen … come see why science is so sexy!

Join botanist Dr. Karen Clary in uncovering of the secret sex lives of wildflowers. Enjoy wine and chocolates while peeking behind the curtain to learn how plants “trick” pollinators into helping them reproduce. You’ll hear stories ranging from sublime to scandalous, and you’ll never look at a garden quite the same way again. Come get in on the secret.

Registration is required and space is limited; register here.

$50 per couple
$45 for members

Psssst. Give your sweetheart flowers all year! A couple’s membership makes a great Valentine’s Day gift.

Dr. Clary’s career spans two decades in natural resources conservation. She oversees the Center’s native plant conservation program aimed at preserving common and rare Texas plant species in the Wildflower Center seed bank for future use, managing aggressive, invasive plants and stewarding rare and endangered Texas plant species. With a strong commitment to education and public outreach, she regularly gives lectures about botany and native plants, and teaches with the Wildflower Center’s Go Native U educational program.
