  • January 19, 2017

    Today the Energy Department announces SimpleFuel as the winner of the $1 million H2 Refuel H-Prize Competition. Launched in October 2014, the H2 Refuel H-Prize Competition challenged America's innovators to deploy an on-site hydrogen generation system, using electricity or natural gas, to fuel hydrogen vehicles, that can be used in homes, community centers, small businesses, or similar locations.

    The Fuel Cell Technologies Office will present a live webinar entitled "Manufacturing Cost Analyses of Fuel Cell Systems for Non-Transportation Applications" on Tuesday, January 24, from 12 to 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). In this webinar, Vince Contini from Battelle will describe Battelle's five-year program to evaluate fuel cell system manufacturing costs at various production volumes, system capacities, and system designs for applications including material handling equipment, primary power and combined heat and power, backup power, and auxiliary power.

    The U.S. Department of Energy's Fuel Cell Technologies Office has extended the deadline for the Request for Information entitled "Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Manufacturing: Identifying Specific Components for Manufacturing Standardization." Interested parties are requested to provide responses to this RFI electronically no later than 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 31, 2017.
