Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(b), the following acts are prohibited on any forest development road within the Pacific Southwest Region of the Forest Service. This order is effective October 1, 1998.
Using a road for commercial hauling without written authorization. 36 CFR 261.54(c).
Operating a vehicle on a bridge in violation of a posted weight limitation. 36 CFR 261.54(d).
Operating a vehicle carelessly, recklessly, or without regard for the rights or safety of other persons, or in a manner or at a speed that would endanger or be likely to endanger any person or property. 36 CFR 261.54 (f).
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 USC 551 and 18 USC 3559 and 3571.
This order supercedes Regional Order No. 83-3 issued September 19, 1983, and Regional Order No. 92-1 issued January 21, 1992.
Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and 36 CFR 261.50 (b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. This Order is effective from October 23, 2012 through October 22, 2013.
Being on National Forest System Road ("Forest Road") 2S20 as it travels south from both its eastern and western intersections with Forest Road 1S12, as shown on the attached map. 36 CFR 261.54(e).
Naturally occurring asbestos can pose a health risk if disturbed and asbestos fibers are released into the air. Asbestos is typically found in ultramafic rock formations that are present in every California county.
